Before we were heading to Mestia we stopped for two days in Zugdidi, capital of Mingrelia and Upper-Svaneti. We stayed at a lovely guesthouse offside the city center with a big garden, grapevine, lemon trees, peach trees, small fields, turkeys, chickens, the house cat ‚Pussa‘ and sometimes the neighbor cows came for browsing. We had a good time with the family – eating, chatting, sitting outside drinking homemade cornelian cherry compote. We caught a glimpse of life on a small farm, which we enjoyed very much. At our surprise one morning there stood a dog cage in the garden with the cutest puppy Pompom inside – we took him under our wing and together with him we explored the property.
Besides enjoying the stay on that little farm, we wandered around Zugdidi, visited the Dadiani Palace, observed people in the park and tried to get a feeling for the city.
But see for yourself!
